Oceania Sonata Serves Up Innovation with Two Debut Dining Experiences
From French Fine Dining to Japanese-Peruvian Fusion, Sonata Sets a New Standard
Oceania Cruises is turning up the heat in the galley, revealing two all-new culinary concepts set to debut aboard the upcoming Oceania Sonata. If you love the idea of dinner that feels like an event in itself, Sonata’s next-generation dining lineup is about to make some serious waves.
First up is La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, an intimate fine-dining venue that’s about to become the most exclusive table at sea. Seating just 18 lucky guests, the restaurant launches with the full endorsement of the iconic Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, making this a first in cruise history. Oceania’s own Executive Culinary Directors, Chefs Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale, are both members of the prestigious organization, and they’ll be crafting rotating menus alongside select Master Chefs of France from around the globe. Guests can also look forward to the return of the beloved Dom Pérignon Experience, complete with a six-course tasting menu and vintage Champagne pairings.
Nikkei Kitchen
On the other side of the flavour spectrum, Oceania Sonata will also introduce Nikkei Kitchen, a vibrant evening venue celebrating the fusion of Peruvian ingredients and refined Japanese technique. With Chef Gustavo Sugay joining the culinary leadership team, guests can expect dishes marked by fresh seafood, bright citrus, soy-forward sauces, and just the right kick of spice. The restaurant will embrace a modern, open-kitchen design that echoes the freshness of its menu.
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, shared that these new venues represent a bold step forward for the line’s celebrated culinary program, pairing world-class talent with the freedom to create unforgettable dining experiences.
Guests can look forward to even more next-generation enhancements when Oceania Sonata launches in August 2027. As the first ship in the new Sonata Class, the vessel will introduce a stunning collection of ten best-in-class dining venues, including fan favourites like Red Ginger, Toscana, Jacques, and the Grand Dining Room, alongside the new culinary debuts.
With 30% of accommodations composed of suites and a design crafted for spacious, amenity-rich sailing, Oceania Sonata is gearing up to deliver a symphony of epicurean experiences at sea. And with these two new restaurants setting the tone, the future is looking delicious.
