In honour of National Margarita Day, Princess Cruises made waves by officially breaking the Guinness World Records title for the Most Margaritas Sold in 8 Hours.

The record-setting moment happened aboard Regal Princess while docked in Cozumel during a 7-day Western Caribbean sailing. And let’s just say, guests showed up ready to celebrate.

By the end of the eight-hour fiesta, an impressive 3,410 handcrafted margaritas had been served, smashing the previous record of 2,728.

At the heart of the celebration was the cruise line’s signature cocktail, the 24K Margarita. Made with Pantalones Organic Tequila, this guest-favourite has become a must-sip across the fleet.

Crafted with a blend of premium ingredients and served over ice in a salted-rim glass, it’s easy to see why this cocktail has taken centre stage onboard.

The record-breaking event also marked another huge milestone, Princess Cruises has officially served over one million 24K Margaritas between January 2025 and early 2026.

That’s a lot of lime, a lot of laughter, and a whole lot of holiday vibes.

The success of the 24K Margarita comes just over a year after Princess Cruises teamed up with Pantalones Organic Tequila. Since launching fleetwide in October 2024, the partnership has quickly become one of the most popular onboard experiences.

Adding to the fun, co-founders Matthew McConaughey and Camila McConaughey even sent a special congratulatory message to guests and crew, helping make the moment feel even more memorable.

While the 24K Margarita may be the headline act, it’s not the only drink making waves. Guests can also enjoy a lineup of creative cocktails crafted with mixologist Rob Floyd, including playful favourites like Pants on Fire and Fancy Pants Paloma.
