Disney Cruise Line Sets Course for New Destinations in 2027 and 2028

From New York City to Panama, Disney Cruise Line is planning a packed season of family adventures.

If you’ve ever fancied combining a Disney holiday with a little more exploring, Disney Cruise Line has certainly been busy planning.

The cruise line has revealed its new itineraries for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028, bringing together a mix of returning favourites, new destinations and some rather tempting longer sailings.

And yes, there will be plenty of opportunities to visit Disney’s own island destinations too. Because apparently, you can never have too much Disney magic.

The Disney Wish is heading back to New York

One of the biggest highlights is the return of Disney Cruise Line to New York City for the first time since 2023.

The Disney Wish will arrive in New York in late September 2027 following its inaugural season in Europe.

From there, the ship will offer seven special voyages, ranging from four to seven nights.

Five of these cruises will visit Bermuda, with three of those sailings giving families an extra day to enjoy the island’s scenery and culture.

The Disney Wish will also return to the New England and Canadian Atlantic coast for the first time in nearly four years.

During these autumn sailings, guests will be able to visit Boston, Massachusetts; St. John, New Brunswick; and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

For families looking to experience the colours of autumn along the coast, it sounds like a rather lovely way to see the season.

More Caribbean adventures from San Juan

Disney Cruise Line is also increasing its presence in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with more sailings planned during Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.

The Disney Wish will first sail from New York to San Juan on a five-night cruise with a stop in Bermuda.

It will then embark on a seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan, visiting Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire and Dominica.

After that, the ship will reposition to Port Canaveral on a four-night cruise calling at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

The Disney Fantasy will also spend time sailing from San Juan.

In December 2027, guests can choose from a seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise or a five-night Eastern Caribbean cruise ending in Fort Lauderdale.

Then, from late April through May 2028, the ship will return to San Juan for two seven-night Southern Caribbean cruises featuring destinations including Curaçao, Bonaire, Barbados and Antigua.

First-time calls in Panama

Disney Cruise Line is also adding something new to its Panama Canal sailings.

The Disney Magic will offer two 14-night repositioning cruises across the Panama Canal during Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.

In November 2027, the ship will sail from San Diego to Galveston, with a maiden call at Fuerte Amador (Panama City), Panama.

Then, in March 2028, the Disney Magic will make the journey in the opposite direction, sailing from Galveston to San Diego.

This sailing will include a maiden call at Colón, Panama, the Caribbean gateway to the Panama Canal.

More Disney magic from Florida

There will also be plenty happening from Port Canaveral, with three Wish Class ships based there from November 2027.

The Disney Destiny will home port in Port Canaveral for the first time, offering three- to seven-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.

Before heading to Port Canaveral, the ship will begin the Fall 2027 season in Fort Lauderdale with three- to five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.

The Disney Wish will also move to Port Canaveral following its New York and San Juan sailings, offering three- and four-night Bahamian cruises featuring Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Meanwhile, the Disney Treasure will continue with seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, alongside an eight-night Eastern Caribbean sailing and a six-night Bahamian cruise featuring two stops at Disney Castaway Cay.

The Disney Dream will offer three- and four-night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral before moving to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027.

And there’s a particularly interesting sailing here too, a six-night cruise with two stops at Disney Castaway Cay, giving guests extra time to enjoy the island.

California and Texas get their turn

Disney Cruise Line’s plans stretch well beyond Florida and the Caribbean.

Two ships will begin the Fall 2027 season in San Diego, with both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder offering three- to seven-night cruises to Baja and the Mexican Riviera.

The Disney Wonder will continue sailing from San Diego through Fall 2027 and Spring 2028, with itineraries including Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Catalina Island.

Following its Panama Canal crossing, the Disney Magic will head to Galveston, Texas, where it will offer four- to seven-night cruises throughout the season.

Some seven-night Bahamian cruises from Galveston will also visit both Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and Disney Castaway Cay.

Disney Adventure continues in Southeast Asia

Over in Southeast Asia, the Disney Adventure will continue sailing from Singapore.

New three- and four-night itineraries will operate from September through December 2027, giving families more chances to experience Disney Cruise Line at sea.

There’s also a new port of call coming to selected sailings from 31 December 2026, with Langkawi, Malaysia joining the itinerary.

Guests visiting Langkawi will have the chance to explore its lush rainforests and scenic coastline before returning to the Disney Adventure.

Halloween and Christmas at sea

And, of course, Disney Cruise Line wouldn’t be Disney Cruise Line without a little seasonal magic.

Halloween on the High Seas will return from September 2027 on selected sailings.

Expect Disney characters dressed in spooky outfits, special entertainment, deck parties and trick-or-treating at sea.

Then, from November and December 2027, Very Merry time cruises will return.

The ships will be filled with festive decorations, seasonal treats, special deck parties and visits from Santa Claus, along with the traditional tree lighting.

Because if you’re going to cruise over Christmas, you might as well go all in.

When can you book?

For those already part of the Disney Cruise Line family, select Castaway Club members can begin booking on 31 August 2026.

General bookings open on 8 September 2026.

With New York making a comeback, new ports in Panama, more Caribbean adventures and a growing selection of cruises from Florida, California, Texas and Singapore, Disney Cruise Line’s Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 seasons are shaping up to offer plenty of ways for families to combine Disney magic with discovering somewhere new.
