Legend of the Seas to Support Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity During European Debut
Guests sailing on the new Icon Class ship can help support specialist children's nurses
There's something extra special happening aboard Legend of the Seas, and this time it isn't just about the shows, slides or spectacular views.
Ahead of the new Icon Class ship's European debut this July, Royal Caribbean has announced a heartwarming partnership with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, giving guests the chance to support an incredible cause while enjoying their holiday.
The partnership arrives just in time for the debut of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the Royal Theater, making it a fitting way to celebrate one of the world's most loved stories while helping children and families across the UK.
A partnership with a purpose
Throughout Legend of the Seas' inaugural European season, guests will be able to take part in onboard fundraising and donation opportunities that will help support the charity's network of more than 250 specialist Roald Dahl Nurses.
These dedicated nurses work alongside NHS Trusts, providing expert care and practical support to children living with complex, lifelong illnesses, while also helping families navigate the challenges they face every day.
The charity currently supports more than 50,000 seriously ill children and their families across the UK.
Giving nurses a well-earned holiday
Royal Caribbean isn't stopping at fundraising.
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, the cruise line will welcome a group of Roald Dahl Nurses onboard Legend of the Seas for a special four-night preview sailing before the ship officially launches on 4 July 2026.
After spending their days caring for children with complex medical conditions, the nurses will be able to enjoy everything the newest Icon Class ship has to offer, from world-class entertainment and fantastic dining to some well-deserved relaxation at sea.

The partnership couldn't be better timed.
As Charlie and the Chocolate Factory becomes one of the headline productions onboard Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean says teaming up with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity felt like a natural fit.
It's a wonderful way to celebrate the magic of Roald Dahl's storytelling while shining a spotlight on the remarkable work carried out by the charity's specialist nurses every single day.
The countdown to Legend continues
Legend of the Seas is set to deliver Royal Caribbean's latest family holiday experience, complete with eight neighbourhoods, more than 40 places to dine, drink and be entertained, plus activities for every generation.
Following her inaugural European season, Legend will head across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale in November 2026, where she'll begin sailing six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, including visits to the ever-popular Perfect Day at CocoCay.
With an exciting new Broadway-style production, an unforgettable new ship and a partnership that's set to make a real difference, Legend of the Seas is already proving there's plenty of heart behind the headline.
