MSC World Asia’s Giant New Slide Is About to Become a Cruise Favourite

A towering new centrepiece and record-breaking slide are coming to MSC World Asia

If you love cruise ships with a serious wow factor, MSC Cruises has just shared something you'll want to see.

The cruise line has released brand-new images of MSC World Asia, offering a closer look at what could become one of the ship's most talked-about attractions, the longest dry slide at sea.

Known as The Spiral @ Tree of Life, the impressive attraction sits at the heart of The Harbour, MSC's outdoor family destination designed for fun, food and sunshine-filled days at sea.

A Slide That's Hard to Miss

Let's just say this isn't your average cruise ship slide.

Stretching an impressive 81.3 metres, The Spiral will whisk guests from an elevated walkway around the Tree of Life down to the bustling World Promenade below.

Not only does it offer a quick way to move between decks, but it also delivers a fun experience that guests of all ages can enjoy during their holiday.

And judging by the newly released images, it's going to be one of the ship's standout photo opportunities too.

Meet the Tree of Life

Before guests even take the plunge down the slide, they'll encounter the attraction's centrepiece, the striking Tree of Life.

Rising nearly 10 metres above the deck and weighing close to eight tonnes, the structure is designed to become both a visual landmark and a social hub onboard.

Families can gather beneath it before heading off to explore The Harbour, while the elevated walkway wrapped around the structure creates a unique viewing point overlooking the ship.

The design draws inspiration from contemporary Asian cities and Singapore's famous Supertrees, tying into MSC World Asia's broader Asia-inspired themes.

The Fun Doesn't Stop After Sunset

As daylight fades, the Tree of Life transforms into something entirely different.

With more than 150 metres of integrated LED lighting, the attraction becomes a focal point for evening entertainment, complete with music, activities and an energetic atmosphere designed to bring families and friends together.

It's the kind of feature that looks just as impressive after dark as it does under the Mediterranean sun.

Coming to the Mediterranean in 2026

Currently under construction at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, MSC World Asia is the third ship in MSC Cruises' World Class series.

The new flagship will begin sailing on 4 December 2026, offering seven-night Mediterranean cruises visiting popular ports including Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia for Rome, Naples and Valletta.

MSC says the ship will continue its World Class tradition of combining European style with international influences, alongside a wide selection of dining, entertainment and family-friendly experiences.

But if these latest images are anything to go by, the Tree of Life and its record-breaking spiral slide could quickly become one of the ship's biggest stars.
