Icon of the Seas Heads to Texas: Royal Caribbean Drops Its Biggest Galveston News Yet
Texas, Meet Icon of the Seas: Royal Caribbean Just Changed the Game
Royal Caribbean just dropped a sunset-worthy announcement, and trust us, you’ll want to grab your favourite deck chair for this one. The cruise line is rolling into the 2027-28 season with a lineup that’s equal parts bold, beachy, and downright brag-worthy. And headlining the show? The first-ever Texas sailings of the one-and-only Icon of the Seas.
Icon Goes Texan
Starting August 2027, the ship that redefined family vacations will make its big debut in Galveston. Think 6- to 8-night adventures to Perfect Day at CocoCay, Roatan, and Cozumel, where the sparkling new Royal Beach Club Cozumel will be ready to deliver those picture-perfect afternoons. With thrills at Category 6 and over 40 bars and dining spots, Icon is basically a floating highlight reel.
More Texas Heat: Liberty & Symphony
Also sailing from Galveston, Liberty of the Seas returns in April 2027 with a fresh makeover, new pool deck, new casitas, and a new Royal Escape Room that’s practically begging for a family showdown. Then there’s Symphony of the Seas, homeporting in Texas for the very first time and bringing the likes of the Ultimate Abyss and Jamie’s Italian along for the ride. Western Caribbean sun? Covered.
Galvaston, Texas.
Golden Hour Getaways from California
If West Coast breezes are more your style, Ovation of the Seas will offer quick 3- and 4-night escapes from Los Angeles to Catalina Island and Ensenada, complete with bumper cars, panoramic views from North Star, and the vibey new Pesky Parrot tiki bar. And Navigator of the Seas keeps the Mexican Riviera magic alive with weeklong adventures full of tacos, tequila, and sunset-soaked coastlines.
Cool Breezes & Coastal Charm in the Northeast
From Cape Liberty, Oasis of the Seas kicks off May 2027 sailings to Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, delivering seven nights of sun and serenity. Later in the year, Odyssey of the Seas brings longer Caribbean journeys featuring everything from soaring Piton views to island railways and underground lagoons. Add Independence of the Seas with its mix of Bermuda, Canada, New England, and Caribbean trips, and Vision of the Seas from Baltimore, and the Northeast is stacked with choice.
Royal Caribbean’s newest lineup is officially open for Crown & Anchor Society members, with general booking opening Nov. 13. Whether you’re dreaming of turquoise waters, mountain-backed skylines, or a ship with more places to eat than you’ll ever confess to trying, 2027-28 is shaping up to be one unforgettable season on the seas. Cheers to chasing sunsets, one cruise at a time.
