Here’s the lineup:
(Boston University) will be aboard Zuiderdam’s 35-day “Voyage of the Vikings: Solar Eclipse”, departing July 18, 2026, roundtrip from Boston. He’ll guide guests through the eclipse as the ship positions off Iceland, bringing his expertise in solar and plasma physics to life.
(University of California San Diego) will sail the 13-day “Mediterranean Solar Eclipse” on Oosterdam, departing Lisbon on Aug. 9, 2026, and heading to Athens. Along the way, guests will hear his fascinating research on stars, exoplanets, and how astronomy weaves into Mediterranean history.
(University of Toronto, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) will join Nieuw Statendam’s 28-day “Legendary Solar Eclipse with Greenland and Scotland”, departing July 24, 2026, from Dover. Known for his engaging teaching style, he’ll guide guests during the eclipse and share his passion for astronomy across additional sessions.
In addition to real-time eclipse commentary, guests can expect enriching lectures, Q&A sessions, themed activities, and even culinary touches to mark the occasion. Safety glasses will also be provided, so everyone can enjoy the breathtaking view without worry.
