Carnival Destiny Revealed: Everything We Know About Carnival's New Ace Class Ship

Carnival Cruise Line's newest mega-ship is set to arrive in 2029 with incredible ocean views, brand-new venues and a fresh generation of cruising.

If you're the type of cruiser who loves watching the waves roll by from every possible angle, Carnival Cruise Line has some exciting news.

The cruise line has officially unveiled Carnival Destiny, the first ship in its brand-new Ace Class, during a traditional steel-cutting ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. Set to launch in summer 2029, this isn't just another new ship, it's the beginning of Carnival's next generation of cruising.

Guests at the ceremony were also treated to a 3D hologram that gave everyone a first glimpse of what Carnival Destiny will look like, building excitement for what's still to come.

More sea, more views, more wow

Carnival says Carnival Destiny is being designed to bring guests closer to the ocean than ever before. In fact, it's set to become the most outward-facing mega-ship at sea.

That means plenty of ocean-view balcony cabins, a completely reimagined lanai deck and an incredible 4.5 acres of glass throughout the ship. Massive multi-storey glass walls will open up the views, so wherever you wander on board, the sea is never far from sight.

For anyone who finds themselves happily staring out at the horizon with a coffee, or perhaps something a little stronger, this sounds like a ship that's been designed with you in mind.

Familiar name, brand-new experience

While the ship is packed with fresh ideas, the name itself is a nod to Carnival's past.

The original Carnival Destiny made history when she launched as the world's largest cruise ship. Now the famous name returns on a ship that's aiming to reshape the Carnival experience once again.

And speaking of new experiences, Carnival says more than 70% of the venues and attractions on board will be completely new to the cruise line. Expect reimagined restaurants, next-generation bars and lounges, immersive entertainment and vibrant outdoor spaces that promise plenty of opportunities to make memories at sea.

Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, summed it up perfectly:

"Carnival Destiny builds on a legacy that changed cruising once before, reimagining what guests can experience at sea. With this ship, we're elevating the guest experience again, creating a ship that feels more expansive, while helping guests feel more connected and ultimately have more fun."

When Carnival Destiny arrives in 2029, she'll sail to destinations within Carnival's Paradise Collection, taking guests to exclusive destinations across the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico.

Carnival has confirmed that more details about the ship's features and onboard experiences will be revealed later this year, while two more Ace Class ships are already planned for 2031 and 2033.

One thing's for sure, if this first announcement is anything to go by, Carnival's next chapter is certainly off to a bright start.
