Norwegian Cruise Line Officially Welcomes Norwegian Luna to the Fleet

Inside the Stunning Design of Norwegian Luna

Norwegian Cruise Line has officially welcomed its newest ship, Norwegian Luna, during a dazzling christening ceremony in Miami, and let’s just say, this ship is bringing serious holiday energy to the Caribbean.

The celebration took place on 27 March 2026 at NCL’s LEED® Gold Certified terminal at PortMiami, with more than 2,000 guests attending the maritime tradition of blessing the vessel before she officially begins life at sea. The ceremony featured renowned street artist ELLE, who serves as the ship’s godmother and creator of the ship’s colourful hull artwork, “La Luna”.

Designed as a vivid dreamscape inspired by the moon and humanity’s connection to it, the artwork now stretches across the hull of the stunning new vessel. The ceremony concluded with the traditional bottle-breaking across the ship’s hull, wishing safe travels to everyone who sails aboard her.

At 1,056 feet long and carrying up to 3,565 guests, Norwegian Luna is packed with experiences aimed at families, couples and multigenerational travellers alike. From the longest and fastest slides at sea on the Aqua Slidecoaster to entirely new attractions such as Moon Climber and Luna Midway, there is no shortage of excitement onboard.

Families travelling together will find plenty to keep everyone entertained. Luna Midway brings carnival-style games to the top deck, while Moon Climber offers a multi-level obstacle course for children and adults. Guests can also enjoy the Glow Court digital sports complex, Horizon Park’s outdoor games area and the Luna Game Zone filled with arcade favourites and virtual reality experiences.

Entertainment is also taking centre stage onboard. Guests can enjoy productions including “Elton: A Celebration of Elton John™”, “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder™” and “A Tribute to Eagles™” at Syd Norman’s Pour House. Adults looking for a late-night experience can head to “LunaTique™”, an adults-only production inspired by the glamour and excitement of Las Vegas evenings.

Of course, food lovers are in for a treat too. The ship offers 17 dining venues featuring more than 15 cuisines from around the world. Guests can savour modern Italian dishes at Onda by Scarpetta, authentic Thai cuisine at Sukhothai and classic French favourites at Le Bistro. After dinner, there are 18 bars and lounges to explore, including the Whiskey Bar and the popular Metropolitan Bar.

From April 2026 through to April 2027, Norwegian Luna will sail round-trip Caribbean itineraries from Miami, visiting NCL’s private resort-style destinations, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize.

Guests visiting Great Stirrup Cay can also look forward to several new enhancements, including the Great Life Lagoon pool area with swim-up bars and private cabanas, as well as the adults-only Vibe Shore Club. Later this summer, the island is set to debut the nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark featuring 19 waterslides, cliffside jumps and an 800-foot immersive river attraction.

Following her Caribbean season, Norwegian Luna will head to New York City in April 2027 to begin four and seven-night round-trip sailings to Bermuda, giving guests even more opportunities to enjoy pink sandy beaches, catamaran excursions and scenic island adventures.

If warm-weather escapes, thrilling attractions and round-the-clock entertainment sound like your kind of cruise holiday, Norwegian Luna is certainly ready to shine.
