Virgin Voyages Unveils Scarlet Lady’s Caribbean Comeback for Winter 2027–2028
Scarlet Lady to Homeport in San Juan for Winter Caribbean Season
If you’ve been dreaming of swapping grey skies for Caribbean blues, Virgin Voyages has just unveiled a winter line-up worth circling on the calendar. Their flagship, Scarlet Lady, is stepping into the spotlight for the 2027–2028 season, with a headline-making Transatlantic sailing and a fresh take on Southern Caribbean escapes.
A Transatlantic First for Scarlet Lady
Kicking things off in style, Scarlet Lady will embark on a 12-night voyage from Barcelona to San Juan, marking the brand’s first-ever westbound crossing between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
This isn’t just about getting from A to B. Along the way, Sailors can expect:
A call in Tangier
A maiden call to Lanzarote
Plenty of sea days designed as immersive, resort-style experiences
Adding a seasonal twist, the crossing will also feature a Halloween-themed voyage, bringing themed entertainment and programming to the high seas. Not your average October getaway.

San Juan Takes Centre Stage
After crossing the Atlantic, Scarlet Lady will settle into her winter home port in San Juan, offering a full season of six- to eight-night Southern Caribbean sailings.
These itineraries are built with flexibility in mind:
6 nights: Four port days with minimal sea time
7 nights: A blend of destination immersion and restorative sea days
8 nights: Slower-paced sailings with sea days as a feature
Destinations include some of the Caribbean’s most sought-after islands, think Aruba, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Barbados, with a focus on longer, more meaningful stays.
One standout? Late-night stays in Aruba, including a festive appearance just before Christmas. Ideal if you’d rather spend the holidays on a sun-drenched island than queuing at the airport.
A Thoughtful Balance at Sea
This season has been carefully designed around destination-led travel, with a smart mix of port days and sea days. On board, the experience stays true to Virgin Voyages’ adults-only approach, meaning no children’s clubs, just grown-up relaxation and entertainment.
Expect:
Michelin-inspired dining
Award-winning shows
Included Wi-Fi
Group fitness classes
All wrapped into the fare, keeping things refreshingly straightforward.
A Season Designed for Every Traveller
With a mix of shorter and longer itineraries, plus a balance of sea days and port days, this deployment offers something for every kind of traveller, whether you’re looking for a quick Caribbean escape or a more immersive, slow-paced sailing.
